DINE & DANCE AT THE TALBOT HOTEL, LEOMINSTER
Graham & Denise, thank you for an excellent afternoons entertainment, thoroughly
enjoyed, I'm sure, by everyone there.

Barry & Barbara Proctor
We have recently returned from a most enjoyable "DINE & DANCE" day, organised by
Denise & Graham. This took place at the best western Talbot Hotel, in Leominster,
Herefordshire. The hotel was originally a 15th century coaching inn with Oak Beams,
and is situated in the centre of this old market town with many half-timbered houses.

After meeting our dancing friends, who travelled from all areas within the heart of
england, we were treated to an excellent thre course lunch, and as soon as we had our
coffee, our organist Graham Darby, had begun to play the first quickstep, and we were
putting on our dance shoes and taking to the floor.

The ballroom & sequence dancing went on throughout the afternoon, and also included
and elimination waltz and two line dances. The afternoon flew by, we were all made to
feel most welcome by Denise & Graham, there was little time for us to sit out any of
the dances.

The day ended with a rendering of "Auld Lang Syne" after which we made our way back
to the westmidlands with the sun setting over the snow-capped Shropshire hills.

Sue & Dave
There was a distinct chill in the air on this Sunday morning.
The sun was shining but winter was casting it's spell over the West Midlands. Despite
this an air of eager anticipation existed in homes as far apart as Lichfield.. Shewsbury..
Willenhall..Worcester..Bromyard..and Malvern.
Cars were being warmed up. Rout maps were being studied and the essential
"ingredients" (dancing shoes) were being cleaned and packed.
We were all heading for Leominster to spend an afternoon wining dining and dancing at
the Talbot Hotel. Situated in the town centre the hotel exuded "old world charm".
After a long journey it was gratifying to find a large free car park adjacent to the
hotel.
The doors opened at eleven-thirty. We were greeted by our ever genial hosts Denise
and Graham. Everything has been set up with meticulous precision. The tables were
arranged and numbered in such a way as to insure that everybody was seated with
their own friends yet at the same time we were all intermingled so as to create a
genial atmosphere.
The room itself with exposed beams and low ceiling presented a cottage type feeling.
The wooden floor was inviting and the pillar on the dance floor was decorative as well
as presenting a challenge to the dancers! Situated by the door an efficient Bar service
provided liquid refreshment.
The three course meal was presented and served in an efficient manner. As we had all
preselected our meal delays were cut to a minimum. During the meal both Denise and
Graham were constantly circulating to see if everybody was happy and contented with
the arrangements. There were no complaints.
The dancing commenced and as usual a wonderful party atmosphere exploded. Denise
is a catalyst for lively humour. Graham always provides feet tapping music that is
difficult to resist. They know their dancers so well that time spent in their company is
like a family reunion.
The dance programme was energetic. The lengthy Taxi Quicksteps were enjoyable..but
exhausting to the brink of heart failure! Many of the dancers were made progressive
which led to more laughter and chaos.
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. "A lucky door ticket" and a raffle
afforded prizes to fortunate participants and an Illimination Waltz featured the
Joker in the pack!
Time passed too quickly We all linked arms for Auld Lang Syne followed by the
National Anthem. Everyone had enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. This was due entirely
to Denise and Graham.
They are the perfect team combining a genuine desire to encourage a friendly
atmosphere combined with love for music and dancing.
Add to that the ability to organise and present a package that includes all these
factors and you find the perfect entertainment for dancers.
As we all said our "good-byes" there was only one consolation.. we can now look
forward to our next party get together.

Llandudno Mini Spring Break April 2005

What a fabulous weekend! We chose to travel up on the Thursday so we could have an
extra day's break, as had a few other people. The Ormescliffe Hotel was situated on
the promenade which gave us lovely views on the bay and The Great Orme. Everyone
else arrived on the Friday evening and we sat down to a wonderful selection of courses
for a 5 course diner. All the staff at the hotel was very welcoming and Mr & Mrs
Murphy, the owners, were very much in hands on the involved in making sure everyone
was happy-very impressed! After dinner we made our way to the ballroom, ready for
Graham and Denise soiree. There was a mix of ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing.
Denise led the squence dancing off with her dance partner Andrew Luty- very elegany
and professional (put us all to shame). We had a never ending Taxi quickstep which was
a chance to mingle and chat to different people. People had come from various venues
all over central England where Graham regulary plays. Dancing finished around midnight
but some of us carried on after and chatted till about 1.30am. Breakfast on Saturday
was full English breakfast, cereals galore, and endless toast and tea. We had an
enjoyable day out shopping in Llandudno, some adventurous people desided to tackle
The Great Orme. The weather for the weekend wasn't bad, windy but dry. We had
another wonderfull 5 course dinner on Saturday evening and were then ready for
another evenings dancing. Everyone was a lot more relaxed as they got to know each
other. We had another fantastic evening's entertainment, including the raffle
elimination waltz which was won by Alan and Brenda. Our daughter Denise was totally
embarrassed by leading off the Balmoral Blues with Andrew- but little did she know it
was all a rouse to get her up so we could sing 'happy birthday' to her. So again with
aching feet from dancing, we eventually went to bed again about 1.30am. Unfortunataly
Sunday morning, we had to come home- so all I can say is, we can't wait for the Turkey
and Tinsel at Christmas. I'm sure I speak from everyone who went to Llandudno and
say a thank you to Graham and Denise for organising the weekend. Wonderful food,
wonderful dancing and excellent company.

Thank you John and Wendy Morgan
                                Aquarius 20th March

Hi Graham & Denise

It's us again, providing the required report on Sundays get together at the Aquarius
Ballroom.
Sundays at the Aquarious are extremely good value. For a tenner you get a good Sunday
roast lunch and an afternoon dancing with the wonderfull Graham Darby.
Sometimes it can be a bit crowded but on the whole a good time is had by all with a
wonderful mix of dances
including sequence, modern, jive and line dancing. The same people come back time and
time again so something must be going right.

Barry and his staff are very good hosts and the food isn't bad either. There is a choice of
beef or pork with all the trimmings and a sweet as well, usually apple pie and custard or
cream.

We usually start dancing at about 2pm and carry on until 5.30pm, by which time we are all
feeling as though we have had a good time and we are wondering when the next one is
going to be on. The people are quite a friendly bunch, although you get the odd one or two
who arn't very sociable, but you get that at all dances.

The music is really good and for someone who plays without music at all it is amazing the
tunes you play and the way you keep the tempo going. "Good on ya Graham!!"

So, if anyone wants a good afternoon at the Aquarius, with lunch thrown in and a dance as
well for a tenner see Graham or Denise.

Janet & Bob
Dear Graham and Denise,

Firstly I wish to thank you Denise for organising such an enjoyable function at the
Talbot Hotel in Leominster on Sunday 22nd May 2005. The food was excellent, the
company convivial and the old world surroundings perfect for a relaxed afternoon of
dancing.
Needless to say Mr Music was his best, the dance tempo invariably spot-on and as
always Graham's sheer enjoyment of the Wersi Organ clearly evident in the music he
played.
All in all it was a truly lovely day out and thanks to you both, what a team!
A dedicated supporter and modest dancer.

CHARITY DANCE  @ the Aquarius Ballroom - Saturday 19th May, 2007
Hi Graham, Just wanted to say thank you very much for a fantastic night last night. The kids all
enjoyed their night, it was excellent practice for them all, in a lovely, friendly environment. The
music was great too and it gave the kids the chance to see the masters of dance in action, and learn
something from the older generation. We found every one very warm and welcoming, as you can
guess we are the one's for the requests for the Paso Doble. I didn't realise that Denise was your
wife, what a superb dancer she is. Once again thank you for a lovely evening, we hope to share a lot
more of them with you.  Kind regards,   Sally
