Sunday Lunch and Dance
The Paddocks Hotel in Symonds Yat was our destination on Sunday the
17th July. We were looking forward to another great afternoon with Mr
Music, that's Graham Darby and his charming wife Denise. We were not
disappointed.
With a warm greeting from Denise on our arrival, we were directed to our
table. Then we were busy meeting and chatting to old friends.
At noon, an excellent three course lunch was served, followed by coffee. A
fully stocked bar was available should anyone prefer other drinks.
After lunch, a short break allowed preparation for the afternoon dancing,
then at 2pm Mr Music announced, "Take your partners" and away we
went. Dancing to beautiful music in a fine spacious ballroom, with a well
balanced programme of "Seqence and Ballroom" dancing, there was
something for everyone and everyone danced, and time passed too quickly.
In the interval at 4pm we were treated to scones with jam and cream, also
tea and coffee. Then it was back to the dancing, untill all too soon
approaching 6pm we were dancing the last waltz.
Saying goodbye to our friends, we all agreed what an excellent day it had
been and as we left we thanked Denise and Graham for afternoon, for we
appreciated all the effort and organisation these events entail.
We look forward to the next Palais de Paddocks, but before that we will
meet again at the aquarius in Hednesford. It can't come too soon.
